Jan Rodenburg, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, December 19, 2016. Jan was born in Aarlanderveen, Holland on May 20, 1929. In 1957 Jan came to the United States and settled in the Escalon area where he lived for over 55 years. Jan started in the dairy business then worked for the Thompson Ranch where he retired after 35 years of employment. Mr. Rodenburg was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family very much. Jan enjoyed being with his family, spending time in his garden and keeping track of crops growing in the Escalon area. Survivors include Jan’s children, Peter Rodenburg of Modesto, Lyann Ohland (Jim Ohland) of El Centro CA and Robert Rodenburg (Paige Rodenburg) of Escalon, grandsons Nicolaas Ohland of Portland OR, Nathaan Ohland of El Centro CA, and Nash Ohland of Manhattan KS and granddaughters Ashton Rodenburg and Camryn Rodenburg of Escalon. Jan was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Rodenburg after 51 years of marriage and by his son, Christopher Rodenburg. Funeral services will be held at Parkview Cemetery and Funeral Home, 3661 E.
