Irene De Coite

Irene H. De Coite, 82, formerly of Escalon, died Aug. 28 in her hometown of Maui, Hawaii.

Born on Oct. 24, 1921, she lived on Maui for 60 years before moving to California in 1983. She lived in Livermore, Oakdale and most recently in Escalon before moving back to Hawaii in 1999.

She enjoyed horses and her late husband was a longtime horse rancher who also enjoyed racing horses.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Survivors include four sons and three daughters, Dennis De Coite Jr. of San Leandro, Ernest De Coite of Oakdale, Renee Abreu of Escalon, Agnes Lopez, Richard De Coite, Rosemarie Fernandez and Nelson De Coite, all of Maui.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dennis De Coite, in 1999.
