Hiram Lee Bell, 92, passed away, at home surrounded by family, on Nov. 25 in Farmington, CA.

He was born in Clayton County, Missouri. At age 14, his family moved to Walnut Grove, CA, and at 18, he joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. Upon his return, he married Deanna Houston. In 1964, while expecting the birth of their fifth child, they moved to Farmington.

Hiram worked 15 years for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department as an officer, acting coroner and homicide detective before accepting the position of Security Manager for Macys, CA where he stayed until retirement. Hiram was proud to be a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2922 and an honorary member of the Farmington Fire Department. He loved to hunt, play poker and tinker with small engines. But most of all, he dearly loved his family and his beloved pets. They gave him so much joy throughout his life.

Hiram is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Deanna; his sister, Georgia (Bob); daughters, Terry (Don), Toni (Bart), Tina (Tom), Lisa (Rex); six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
