GUIDO J. BETTI

Guido Joseph Betti passed away with his loving family at his side in Manteca on March 2, 2019.  He was born in Escalon to Giovanna and Louis Betti on September 30, 1927 at their ranch on River Road.  The 5th of 9 children.  He attended Burwood Grammar School and Escalon High.  

After graduation he joined the Navy and spent time in the South Pacific aboard the USS Topeka.  After his discharge he became a truck driver hauling produce  which he did for 40 years retiring in 1989.  He worked out of San Leandro where he met his wife Anne.  They were married in Virginia City Nevada on October 1, 1956.  They purchased a home in Castro Valley, raised their three children and lived there their entire married life.  

He loved the Giants, 49ers, A’s & the Warriors.  He was also a whiz at crossword puzzles.  He is survived by his loving wife Anne, daughter Barbara Betti, sons Bobby and Gerry Betti, grandsons Tony, Nick and Joey Betti, Brothers Bob Betti of Santa Cruz, Leo Betti of Oroville and sister Evelyn Swass of Escalon.  He was preceded in death by his mother, father and siblings Sylvia Piccoli, Irma Bailey, Attilio Betti, Charlie Betti and Virginia Cova.  Burial was held at Chapel of the Chimes, Hayward Ca on March 11, 2019
