Gerald D. Butler, 84, died Sunday, July 17.

He was born in Crawford County in Mulberry, Arkansas on April 6, 1927 to parents William and Bessa Butler.

The family moved to Escalon in 1942.

He was married to his wife Lolita Butler for 56 years. He was a truck driver for Fair Banks Trucking in Modesto. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter Michaelyn (Kevin) Mize; brother Odell (Nancy) Butler, brother-in-law John Kee and sister-in-law Irene Butler; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Bessa Butler; his loving wife Lolita; sisters Clara Butler, Billie Hughes and Wyvonne Kee; brother Leon Butler; step-son Baxter Lease and step-daughter Darlene Black.

Graveside service will be on Saturday, July 30 at 9:30 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 E. River Road in Escalon. There will be a reception following at the Sportsman's Club, 25195 River Road in Escalon.
