George A. Williamson, 68, of Escalon died Wednesday, April 13 at English Oaks in Modesto.

Born in Waldick, New Jersey, he had lived in Escalon for 35 years.

He was a packer at Sharp Army Depot in Lathrop for 14 years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed playing sports in his younger years and later in life enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He also enjoyed fishing.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1954 to 1974.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Coleen Williamson of Escalon; children, Deborah Landes and husband LD of Sun Valley, Nevada, Randy Williamson and wife Mikki of Herald, CA, Gary Williamson of Escalon, Tommy Williamson and wife Becky of Holt, CA and Jerry Williamson and wife Teresa of Escalon; siblings, Robert Williamson of West Miami Beach, Florida and Emily Jackson of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held. Services were Tuesday, April 19 at Deegan Funeral Chapel, Escalon, with burial at Farmington Cemetery.
