Frances Skiles

Frances Lucille Skiles, 96, passed away on Jan. 1, 2008 at St. Agnes Medical Center in Fresno.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1911 in Oak-Nucholls County, Nebraska, and had been a resident of Stockton for over 50 years. She enjoyed doing needlework, cross-stitching, working in her rose garden and baking -especially at Christmas time. She belonged to the Dorcas Society with the Mission Covenant Church in Escalon for many years.

Survivors include her children, Dixie (Bill) Brown of Costa Mesa, Bonnie (Chuck) Rose of Fresno, Fran (Glenn) Vincelet of Stockton and Terry Skiles of Valley Springs; her grandchildren Denise (David) Golman, Greg (Marie) Brown, Mark (Sonia) Brown, Michelle Ransier, Darren (Lisa) Rose, Kim (Walt) Prato, Pam Tinkey, Kirk (Lisa) Vincelet, Tiffany (Mike) McGee, Dustin Skiles and Danielle Skiles; great-grandchildren Matt Golman, Jessica Golman, JP Brown, Brittany Ransier, Ashten Ransier, Sarah Rose, Grace Rose, Alex Prato, Amy Prato, JD Tinkey, Andy Tinkey, Kevin Vincelet and Leslie Vincelet; and her sister Elaine Skiles of McCook, Nebraska.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Skiles in 1992, and her sisters, Alta Dixon and Eva Applegate.

Graveside service was on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. at Burwood Cemetery, 28320 East River Road in Escalon.
