Edith Estelle Gable, 69, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, ending her battle with cancer. She passed away in her home in Modesto.

She was born on Feb. 17, 1943 in French Camp, CA, one of seven children born to the late Lester and Mable Shaw of French Camp.

Survivors include her husband Raymond Gable, originally from Oklahoma; two children, Dennis Shaw of Escalon and Kimberly Widders of Dallas, Texas; five stepchildren, Deborah Zumwalt of Oklahoma, Sherrel Berry of Oregon, Tina Jordon of Escalon, Kenneth Gable of Oklahoma, and James Gable of Oregon; two sisters and two brothers, Arlene (Charles) Muratore of Nevada, Andrea King (Jeff) of Napa, Lester Jr. Shaw (Rita) of Nevada, and Keith Novinger of Stockton; 20 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Mable Shaw; two sisters, Rita Morris and Ramona Bogar; and two step-daughters, Nancy Gable and Lori Gable.

A graveside memorial will be held for Edith on Saturday, July 28 at 10 a.m., at the Park View Cemetery in French Camp. The family will host a gathering immediately following the memorial to celebrate, honor and pay tribute to her at the home of Dennis Shaw in Escalon.
