JANUARY 9, 1939 – MARCH 10, 2015
   David Johnson passed away with peace and grace from his life on March 10, 2015, at his home in Oakdale surrounded by his loving family and his dog Sofie.
   David was born in Escalon on January 9, 1939 to Luther and Hazel Johnson, the 4th of 6 children. He attended schools in Escalon and graduated from Escalon High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.    David was a truck driver for 30 years and was last employed by Pete Vandermeulen hauling silage. He was a member of the Oakdale Saddle Club and American Legion.
   David enjoyed raising a few cattle and riding his horse. He was a big fan of the SF 49ers and country music. He especially loved spending time on the ranch where he was raised in Escalon surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his children Staci, Michael and Janel of Oakdale and grandchildren Lucas and Tyler. David is also survived by his siblings, Albert (Jackie) Johnson, Ruth (Ron) Cohagan, Richard (Charlotte) Johnson, all of Escalon and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther and Hazel Johnson and his sisters Ethel Ritchey and Alice Johansen.
A Memorial Service for David was held Monday, March 16, 2015 at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St., Escalon at 11AM followed by burial at Burwood Cemetery.
