sjcoe

Local residents are encouraged to help students experience nature while learning about science at the Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center by donating snow gear and winter clothes. This can be done at the drive-up, drop-off donation drive at the Lincoln Center in Stockton on Friday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donations can also be purchased directly on Amazon at https://bit.ly/SkyMountain_WishList.

The winter gear will outfit the fifth- and sixth-grade students going to Science Camp at the Sky Mountain Outdoor Education Center, which is operated by the San Joaquin County Office of Education (SJCOE). All those interested in making a donation on Friday can bring their new or gently used winter gear to Lincoln Center South, in the parking lot in front of 85 Degrees Bakery. The street address is 878 W. Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton. Look for the balloons.

Requested items include: snow boots, snow coats, snow pants, snow gloves, snowshoes, and beanies. Clothing sizes requested are children’s sizes 10-12 and up to adult medium. Shoe and boot sizes: Big Kids 5-7.5 and up to adult size 9.

The donation drive is offered through a partnership of the SJCOE, North Stockton Rotary, University of the Pacific Rotaract, and the Lincoln Center. For more information about Sky Mountain, go to https://bit.ly/SkyMountain_Announcement.
