Weekend Events Focus On Upcoming Holidays
HOLIDAY

With a successful ‘Maker’s Market’ hosted earlier this fall, the Happy Artists Children’s Creative Studio in Escalon will offer another event this weekend. This time, it is a holiday-themed market, with young entrepreneurs, under age 18, bringing their wares to show and sell. Handmade items only will be accepted for the market, which is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 5 at the Happy Artists location, 1900 McHenry Ave., Suite 203.

Several young sellers took part in the event in the fall, with stations set up inside and outside the studio, with social distancing protocols observed. The same will be true for the holiday market. Hours for the event are noon to 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, this will be the first of two holiday weekend events planned at The Barn through Lorina’s Edible Garden, along Enterprise Road. “Christmas at the Barn” is on the schedule for Friday and Saturday, Dec. 4 and 5, Dec. 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Sundays, Dec. 6 and 13 from noon to 4 p.m.

There will be a variety of vendors at the Christmas ‘barn’ event, also with social distancing being observed. Lorina’s Edible Garden will have soaps, lotions, scrubs, herbs, spices, succulents, holiday gift items, walnuts and more, along with vendors bringing in items ranging from handmade jewelry to crocheted crafts, sweet treats and holiday decorations.

Looking ahead, Saron Lutheran Church will put on its fifth annual Kris Kringle Market on Saturday, Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 1742 North St, Escalon.

This will be for outdoor shopping, those attending are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing. Along with holiday items, seasonal décor, baked goods, pet presents and more, there will also be the chance to grab lunch ‘to go’ after you shop. They will serve a baked potato lunch, bowl of chili lunch or the combo of baked potato with a cup of chili.
