San Joaquin Regional Transit District, RTD, will host a “Good News Day” at the Downtown Transit Center in order to announce good news related to extended service, vehicle upgrades, and discounts for veterans and seniors.

This event is planned inside the DTC boardroom and on the boarding platform sidewalk and is free and open to the public, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 at the RTD Downtown Transit Center, 421 E. Weber Ave., Stockton.

Those attending should visit the Customer Service Center for guidance upon arrival at the DTC on Friday.

In honor of Veterans Day, RTD has invited multiple representatives from the veteran community to speak. RTD will also debut its commercial honoring veterans entitled, “Reconnect with Heroes.” Tours will be available aboard its special bus honoring veterans and one of its new commuter buses; snacks and beverages will also be available.

Meanwhile, in observance of Veterans Day, San Joaquin Regional Transit District will close its administrative offices, call center, and Downtown Transit Center on Monday, Nov. 12. RTD will operate limited weekend service on regular fixed-route (Stockton Metro, Metro Express, Intercity, and Hopper) and Dial-A-Ride services. All Commuter Services will operate regular service, except Route 165 which will be out of service.

RTD will resume regularly scheduled service and reopen its administrative offices, call center, and Downtown Transit Center on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
