Ten Teens In Running For Miss Escalon Title

Plans are falling into place for this year’s edition of Park Fete in Escalon, including the pageant that will crown a new Miss Escalon.

Candidates were on hand at the Escalon City Council meeting on Monday night, June 17 to introduce themselves to the council, city officials and audience members. Hopefuls are, in alphabetical order, Ariel Astabie, Madison Bavaro, Mya Beary, Natalie Cortes, Sage Davis, Katie Karp, Ashley Levin, Lupita Martinez, Trista Matthews and Alex Titsworth. 

Tickets for the Miss Escalon Pageant – which is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, 6 p.m. at the Escalon Community Center, will be on sale at the Main Street Stage on June 28, July 1, July 2 and July 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.; contact Lexi with questions at 209-480-0728.

Also planned during the week leading up to the July 12 and 13 Park Fete celebration will be the Senior Mr. and Mrs. Escalon Luncheon on Tuesday, July 9; the Miss Escalon pageant on July 10, Little Miss and Mr. Escalon on Thursday, July 11.

Sign-ups are also still being taken for the ‘Escalon’s Got Talent’ show, with the amateur talent hour scheduled from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the city’s Main Street Stage on July 13.

Singing, dancing, playing an instrument, reciting original poetry and more are among the talents being sought – space is limited and spots will be filled by those who sign up first. Entries are limited to 10 minutes and will be screened prior to the performance. Contact Robert Swift for details at 209-595-5013.

Vendor booths and the kids’ amusement area open at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 12 with festivities continuing on Saturday at 9 a.m., the parade at 11 a.m. and entertainment on stage both days.

Also there’s the Park Fete Run, the police department’s cornhole tournament, a horseshoe tournament, stick horse races for kids and more.
