AI Instructional Innovation
As artificial intelligence transforms education, Stanislaus State is helping lead the charge. The California State University selected four faculty-led projects from Stan State for a new systemwide initiative supporting ethical, creative uses of AI in the classroom. The projects – led by Betsy Eudey (Gender Studies), Adam Devitt (Teacher Education), Jamie Johns (Theatre) and John Wittman (English) – range from students co-writing a musical with AI to redesigning first-year writing courses. These projects highlight the University’s role in preparing Central Valley students to thrive in an AI-driven world.
Running Toward Purpose
As the nation observes BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, Stanislaus State celebrates Joel Stallworth, a 2007 communication studies graduate, Hall of Fame athlete and entrepreneur whose journey reflects the transformative power of education, faith and purpose. A three-time All-American in track and field and former Warrior basketball standout, Stallworth now runs an online lifestyle brand and works in mental health, drawing on the values instilled by his Stockton roots and nurtured at Stan State.
“The people I was around, the friends I had, took care of me and made me feel welcome,” he said. “I love that place. I didn’t want to leave Turlock.”
