mistlin

The Central California Art Association at Mistlin Gallery in downtown Modesto is planning the Fourth Annual Autumn Art Festival. This is the CCAA’s members-only juried art show and fundraiser at the Mistlin Gallery from Aug. 13 through Oct. 4. It is a great time for artists to join the organization, meet their peers and compete for cash prizes. Look online or visit the gallery for membership information.

Artist prospectus/entries are due at the gallery by Saturday, July 27. Entered art must be physically brought into the gallery and will be juried by three judges: Susan Stephenson, Ann Baily and Chelsea America. The art will be received at the gallery on Aug. 3 and 4.

Many of the participants will be award-winning artists who have shown their work at galleries in the Central Valley, San Francisco and coastal areas, while others may be showing their work for the first time. Bring your masterpieces and join the fun. All work must be for sale.

Awards will be given at a fundraising gala on Aug. 24 at the Mistlin Gallery, 1015 J St., Modesto. Gourmet food, wine and music are included in the $30 ticket. All artists who enter will receive one free ticket. Tickets can be purchased in the Mistlin Gallery, by calling 209-529-3369 or online. Complimentary parking vouchers are available in the gallery for the parking garage at 11th and K streets.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays, noon to 4 p.m. Third Thursday Art Walks for this show are Aug. 15 and Sept. 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Food and beverages are complimentary at these events. The gallery is open to the public, free of charge.

The CCAA is a non-profit gallery, offering an array of art classes for children and adults. Several scholarships and outreach programs are also extended to the community. The Mistlin Gallery is open to the public, offering opportunities for artists to show their work and the community to enjoy and appreciate the visual arts.
