American Veterans First (AVF) recently donated an electric wheelchair to Escalon resident, veteran Daryl Brown. AVF President John Hinkel took a moment to pose for a photo op with Brown, a 101st Airborne Division Vietnam veteran, when the chair was delivered earlier this month. Brown said he was delighted to receive the chair and extremely appreciative to have mobility once again.

American Veterans First is a non-profit organization located on Patterson Road in Riverbank. Their mission is to assist veterans in healing, offer referrals, and services like food assistance, housing, and employment. Since their inception the organization has provided scooters, wheelchairs, coats, blankets, toiletries, and food to those in need. They have also sent active duty military care packages out to service members around the globe.

When the flags are flying on Patterson Road the doors are open and veterans are welcome.
