The community is encouraged to come out on Saturday to support local pastor Jim Davis as he continues his battle against brain cancer. The longtime resident, who is pastor at Trinity Church Assembly of God in Escalon, also serves as chaplain for the Escalon Fire Department and is currently working on a major project, getting the Escalon Youth Center plans in place. The former Escalon Motel site along Escalon Avenue near the intersection with Yosemite Avenue, is being utilized for the Youth Center project, much of the demolition of the old buildings already completed.
