Tri-Tip Fundraiser

Nuts for Life and Team Saron are putting on their ‘Relay For Life Tri-Tip Dinner For 4’ on Saturday, March 5 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Saron Lutheran Church, 1742 North St., Escalon. Tickets are $40 and that includes a whole BBQ tri-tip, four baked potatoes, a bag of salad, a loaf of French bread and a two-liter bottle of soda. Curbside service; let them do the cooking and drive up for your dinner to be delivered. For tickets or more information, call 838-2892 or 838-2614. Proceeds benefit the teams in their Relay For Life fundraising.

 

Bunco Bash Slated

Team Cancer Stampers will host its fifth annual Relay For Life Bunco Bash on Saturday, March 26 at 2 p.m. at the Escalon Azores Band Hall, 1436 First St., Escalon. Cost is $25 and there will also be ‘opportunity drawing’ tickets available for prizes. There will be lots of food, the opportunity baskets and fun. Relay ‘Ride The Rails’

Ride a vintage train on the original Transcontinental Route on the Niles Canyon Railway and support Relay For Life. This seventh annual trip is set for Saturday, April 23 with departures at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. from Sunol Depot, 6 Kilkare Road, Sunol. Live entertainment on the train and free wine tastings; snacks and beverages will be available for purchase or you can bring a picnic to eat on the train or in the park. Handicap and wheelchair accessible, the trains run in all weather. Train ticket prices are $25 for adults, $15 for children 2 to 12, under 2 ride free. Make checks payable to the American Cancer Society. Cash is also accepted at the depot and all proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Tickets are valid only on Saturday, April 23 for the time shown on the ticket. They may be purchased up to the date of the event. Join In Escalon’s Relay

Relay For Life of Escalon will be hosted at Escalon High School on June 25 and 26 this year, and The Times will provide information about pre-event fundraisers and team previews in the weeks leading up to the American Cancer Society event. Teams planning activities should send the information to Marg Jackson, c/o Escalon Times, 122 S. Third Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361 or email the information to mjackson@oakdaleleader.com. Send information well in advance of the event to allow for adequate time for publication in the paper.

Also, monthly meetings are open to all interested as the planning continues for the June Relay. Meetings will be at the Escalon Ambulance building on Ullrey Avenue the second Thursday of the month unless otherwise specified. Future dates are March 10, April 14, and May 12 with team captain/participant meetings at 6:30 p.m.; committee meetings prior to that from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
