Registration On For Summer Swimming Lessons At Pool

The Escalon Community Pool will open for the summer season on Monday, June 5 and will be open Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for the summer. Cost is $2 per person per day and swim passes can also be purchased at Escalon City Hall on McHenry Avenue.

Swimming lessons begin Monday, June 12 and will include three two-week sessions. Session one runs June 12 through 22; session two June 26 through July 7 (no class July 4) and session three, July 10 through 20.

Fees per session are $40 for the first child; $30 for each additional child in the same family. Adult lessons are $40 and the Mommy and Me class for toddlers cost is $35. Deadline to register is 4 p.m. the Friday prior to each session.

There are six levels, ranging from the Level 1 beginner to the more advanced Level 6; for more information on the lessons and levels visit the Recreation Department or go to the city website at www.cityofescalon.org.

Along with the lessons and open swim, the local Aquatic Discount Scuba presents two classes of Discover Scuba, providing an introduction to scuba diving lessons. Dates for the class are Saturdays, June 10 and July 29 and the class runs from 10 a.m. to noon; cost is $15 for ages 10 and over. Register at the Recreation Department and those attending should bring a towel, swim suit and sunscreen to class.
