Local Election Ballot Sees Two Contests
Vote1

For voters in Escalon, the upcoming Municipal General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 7 will feature just two contested races.

Both are for entities with a shared San Joaquin-Stanislaus County post up for election.

In the Oakdale Irrigation District Division 2 race, incumbent Herman Doornenbal, Jr. is facing a challenge from local farmer/rancher Don Taro. The division includes a portion of rural Escalon.

In the Valley Home School District, which also covers both counties, candidates seeking election to fill out a two-year unexpired term are Erin Wells and Mary Beth Carpenter.

Many people will vote by mail; sample ballots and mail-in ballots have already been sent out to voters.
