All Escalon High School and El Portal Middle School parents have been invited to the an Open House on Wednesday, March 21 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Featured during the evening will be a presentation for all eighth grade students that will be incoming freshmen and their families in the theater starting at 6 p.m.
Teachers will be located in the New Gym so that families can meet them and ask any questions they may have in regards to the courses they teach. At 6:15 p.m. there will be an A.P. presentation in the library. If your student is interested in taking College Board approved Advanced Placement courses, you are asked to attend this meeting. Each A.P. teacher will be giving a brief overview of the A.P. course they teach so that you and your student make sure they understand the course, requirements, and answer any other questions you may have.
The ASB students will be available to take students on tours of the campus throughout the entire evening. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the high school administration office at (209) 838-7073.
Meanwhile, for those who can take time to visit the school prior to the Open House at 6 p.m., the Arts Alive student art showcase will be open for the public to view the artwork done by students at all levels. The show will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday for the special public showing and a bake sale being offered at the event will help raise funds for art scholarships.
The theme of this year’s show is ‘Art for Art’s Sake’ and, along with the public showing on Wednesday evening, classes from all district schools are touring the show and taking part in hands-on art activities throughout the week. The show is staged in the old gym on the EHS campus.
