Four Arrests Reported In Sheep, Calf Thefts

San Joaquin County sheriff’s detectives assigned to the Ag Investigations Unit have made four arrests after a lengthy investigation involving calf and sheep thefts in the Escalon area.

Since August of this year, 28 calves and six sheep have been reported stolen. Public Information Officer Deputy Les Garcia said that during the investigation, detectives uncovered a ring of four male juveniles and one adult male, out of the Escalon area, were responsible for the thefts. The juveniles involved were identified as two 15-year-olds and two 16-year-olds. Three of the juveniles have been arrested and charged with multiple counts of grand theft and conspiracy. One 16-year old male juvenile remains outstanding.

Detectives also reported the arrest of Isidro Gomez, 18, who was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail charged with multiple counts of grand theft and conspiracy.

The investigation is ongoing.
