Community Activity Faire

Saron Lutheran Church is hosting an Activity Faire on Saturday, Aug. 19 with all festivities open to the community.

The church is at 1742 North St., Escalon, and the faire is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Featured will be a wide variety of activities and snacks, crafts of all kinds and the chance to learn about local organizations, volunteer opportunities, friendship clubs, self-improvement and more.

All are welcome; no cost to attend.

 

Benefit Tri-Tip Dinner

The Escalon Covenant Church will host a BBQ Tri-Tip Dinner to go on Friday, Aug. 25 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Advance sale tickets only; call 838-7600 for tickets by Aug. 20.

Cost per ticket is $40 and the dinner for four includes a barbecued tri-tip, chili beans, salad and rolls. Drive thru to pick up your dinner at the church, 1155 Escalon Ave.

Proceeds support the Escalon Covenant Enabling Residence, non-profit assisted living for adults with developmental disabilities.

 

Volunteers Needed

With the annual Escalon United Methodist Church yard sale fast approaching, volunteers are being sought to help prepare for the event. Set up for the sale will begin on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon and again Monday through Thursday, Aug. 28 through 31 from 9 a.m. to noon daily at the church, 2000 Jackson Ave., Escalon. The annual two-day Yard Sale to benefit the church is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 1 and 2 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. Stop by the church to help with set up any or all preparation days.

 

Boutique, Luncheon Set

Farmington United Methodist Women are planning for their annual Boutique and Luncheon, set for Saturday, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 25626 E. Elm St., Farmington. There will be handcrafted and homemade items, baked goods, a drawing for a handmade quilt and the homemade soup and pie luncheon will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Crafter space is still available for those who want to display and sell their handcrafted items. Cost is $25 per space; call Susie at 209-603-3668 to reserve a space or for more information; deadline to register is Monday, Oct. 23.
