Escalon’s anticipated volleyball alumni game, originally set for the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 31, has been cancelled.

Miscommunication regarding the timing of the event prompted its unexpected cancellation. Officials said once a team has started its season, they cannot play anyone outside their own age group. The EHS volleyball players were scheduled to take on alumni in a fun, fundraising event at 6:30 p.m. in the main gym at the high school.

While it cannot be played during the current season, organizers may look to offer the contest at some other time in the future.
