Three four-year terms will be available on the Escalon City Council in the November, 2026 election and four candidates will be vying for those seats.

All three incumbents have filed for re-election with one challenger also filing the required papers by the Thursday, Aug. 6 deadline.

Incumbents Malinda Walker, Jeremy Engle and Andrew ‘Andy’ Hagan have put their names on the ballot, along with parent Jason Perruquet.

All four candidates qualified and will face off in the at-large election in November, with the top three vote getters winning the available seats. Council members Shawn Strohman and Jeff Kay are in the middle of their terms, serving from 2024 through 2028.

The available terms in November are for four years each. Hagan is currently serving as Escalon Mayor and Walker is the Mayor Pro Tem; those posts are filled by a vote of the council every two years, with the mayor and mayor pro tem appointed to the positions.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3 and efforts are underway to schedule a candidate forum this fall for city residents to hear from all those seeking the council posts.
