Whether the rain is falling or the fog is rolling in, Santa Claus has a scheduled stop in Farmington on Friday night.

Actually, Santa and Mrs. Claus are both scheduled to be on hand, as the Farmington Fire Department Board of Directors and FFD volunteers host the annual Community Christmas event.

Fire Chief Conni Bailey said the celebration is open to all in the community and doors at the firehouse will open at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 20.

Those attending can come early to enjoy some holiday music, homemade cookies, brownies and other sweet treats, along with water, coffee and cider, taking time to visit with friends and neighbors before Santa’s arrival. He is scheduled to make an appearance at the firehouse at 7 p.m. and will take time to hear children’s Christmas wishes, pose for photos and provide a present for each child.

All ages are welcome to attend.
