Holiday Events Scheduled At McHenry Mansion

The McHenry Mansion in Modesto will be the site for several holiday-themed events in December, with a variety of festivities planned.

On Saturday, Dec. 1 enjoy the Dickens Faire, featuring a Farmer’s Market and Craft Boutique, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Booths will be on 15th Street and McClatchy Square and the Mansion Gift Store will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tours of the Mansion will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free admission.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4 join in for a Christmas Tea, with spaces available at a 1:30 p.m. seating at the mansion, corner of 15th and I streets. Reservations are required and the cost is $30 per person. Call Janie at 209-522-1739 for information and to make reservations.

Coming up on Friday, Dec. 14 and Sunday, Dec. 16 there will be Candlelight Tours of the mansion offered, starting at 5:30 p.m. with the last tour taking off at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per person and tickets can be purchased at the Mansion Gift Store. No reservations needed. Tours are given by candle and gas light and 19th century activities will be demonstrated. Docents will be stationed throughout the mansion in period dress to answer any questions. Musicians will be playing appropriate holiday music and dessert is included as part of the tour.
