Stanislaus County sheriff’s deputy Cody Cheary, left, from Escalon and Escalon Police Department volunteer Andy Halvorson share a smile and some lemonade, among the many people that turned out in nearby Valley Home on Friday afternoon, Aug. 16. Young Millie Cox, 8, hosted a lemonade and cookies stand at the community park to raise money for HONORBANDS, the black bands used by law enforcement on their badges to honor fallen officers. The youngster’s idea resulted in raising more $1,400 for the HONORBANDS program.
