Flood advisory in effect for region

The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a flood advisory through noon Monday, Jan. 22 for five area counties.

Affected area in northern California includes the following counties: Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.

Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas is anticipated.

Some locations that may experience flooding include Stockton, Modesto, Tracy, Oakdale, Sonora, Jackson, San Andreas, Paloma, Manteca, Lodi, Riverbank, Lathrop, Ripon, Escalon, Milton, Eugene, Rancho Calaveras, Farmington, Telegraph City and Hodson.
