Our very own Sue Schlange is one of two women selected by the Country Crossroads Quilters to feature their quilts at the Modesto Centre Plaza for the Heart of the Valley Quilt and Textile Arts Show. The show will be held Saturday, January 19 and Sunday, January 20. Located at 10th and K Streets in Modesto. Sue was chosen by the membership of the Country Crossroads Quilters for her expertise. There will be over 200 quilts, art quilts and wearables on display. Sue is expecting to display 15 of her quilts. Sue's biggest work is a quilt fit for a king size bed.

Sue made her first quilt in 1968. Years later, she took classes and expanded her skills. She likes working on several projects at once.

Sue also loves to experiment with new patterns and adding her own twists and colors. Sue hates repeating patterns. She stated she goes nuts having to do the same thing over and over.

Escalon United Methodist Church will be hosting its 24th Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Saturday, January 26 from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. All you can eat including ice cream cup dessert and punch or coffee to drink. Take out dinners are available. Tickets are $7.50 for adults, children 5-12, $3.50, under 5 is admitted free.
