To kick off 2019 on a high note, an honored set of Escalon High School music program students represented our community at the San Joaquin County Honors Concert January 12, 2019 at San Joaquin Delta College at 7pm.

The Honors Concert is an annual event featuring the county’s most gifted and talented secondary band, string orchestra, and choir students. The concert is open to the public and free of charge. Student membership is determined through digital auditions each Fall season. EHS sent nine choir students and four band members to this year’s event.

The 2019 EHS Honor Concert members are a direct reflection of the district’s concerted effort to reinvigorate the music program as a whole. The addition of skilled staff and the construction of state of the art music facilities at the high school level have been key components to the music program’s overall development and success.

Student enrollment demands for Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Guitar, Choir, and the History of Music have continued to rise in recent years and show zero signs of slowing down. The increased enrollment numbers has directly impacted the quality of performance of each music concert hosted by the EHS music program. Each performance demonstrates and exhibits an evident growth curve that showcases the hard work that each student, teacher, and parent have put into the program.

EHS would like to thank the City of Escalon, Band Boosters, and the Escalon School District for their unwavering support throughout this exciting journey. There is a lot coming our way.
