Early Morning Arrest Nets Stolen Vehicle

Checking on a vehicle parked in a business parking lot resulted in a pair of recent arrests.

Early March 18, just prior to 1 a.m., Escalon Police Officer Ryan Smith noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in the parking lot of Escalon Family Dental on La Mesa Street. He contacted the occupants, Michael Moss, 25, of Turlock, and Melissa Vignoli, 28, of Modesto. Officer Smith learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Modesto, and took both subjects into custody.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, burglary tools and pepper spray.

Moss was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail where he was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $30,000.

Vignoli was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail where she was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of burglary tools, and being a felon in possession of pepper spray. Her bail was set at $135,000.
