Stockton Fairgrounds Setting For Upcoming Garlic Festival

The California Garlic Festival is coming to the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds on Aug. 5 and 6. The wholesome, family-fun event is focused on local entertainment, community leadership, and the Valley’s vast agriculture.

Hours are noon to 7 p.m. both Saturday, Aug. 5 and Sunday, Aug. 6 and the fairgrounds are at 1658 S. Airport Way, Stockton.

The two-day event will feature the new “Cali Garlic Alley.” Dishes such as Garlic Fries, Garlic Pesto Pasta, Garlic Mushrooms and Onion Bread Bowls will be served. There will also be a unique sweet treat offered, Maple Brown Sugar Garlic Ice Cream.

Activities to enjoy while attending the California Garlic Festival will be the Show and Shine Car Display with hot rods, muscle cars, and low-riders, interactive cooking demonstrations, local entertainment performing on the community stage, the Miss California Garlic Festival Scholarship Pageant and Princess Program, a large fruit stand market selling local fruits, vegetables, and goods, monster truck rides, farm-friendly petting zoo, photography contest showcasing local photographers, a carnival full of rides, games and more.

There will be plenty of shade and seating throughout the venue to enjoy the entertainment and savory dishes. Attendees may choose from the many festival food vendors featuring a garlic item on their menu and many booths featuring a wide array of goods and services.

Admission is $15 for Adults (18-64); $10 for Children (6-17); Seniors 65+, Military w/ ID, and Children 5 and under are admitted free.

The California Garlic Festival will be a family-oriented event the whole valley can enjoy. All are invited to come out and join in to celebrate community, local agriculture, and have some fun.
