Emanuel Medical Center is hosting a series of free Healthy Living Education Series featuring sessions on cancer care, obesity, reducing your risk for falls, heart health and preventing diabetes.

Healthy Aging Association is looking for volunteers who would like to co-teach an eight-week course that meets once a week for two hours. Coaches are asked to commit to teaching two classes in their first year.

If you are interested in learning more about the A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls – Evidence Based Class and attending the upcoming volunteer coaches training, call Healthy Aging Association at 209-525-4670 for the training dates.

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

Healthy Aging Association is a non-profit organization whose mission is “to help older Americans live longer, healthier, more independent lives by promoting increased physical activity and sound health and nutrition practices.” The older adult fitness classes are offered at no charge for ages 60 and better.
