homefront

Thursday, Aug. 11 will be the last chance to donate to military families served by Operation Homefront’s Back-to-School Brigade. Operation Homefront and Dollar Tree Inc. partner through this program to provide military families with school supplies that Dollar Tree customers donate.

The supplies can be purchased and placed in collection boxes located at the nearly 6,000 Dollar Tree stores nationwide, including multiple locations in California. There are local Dollar Tree stores in Oakdale, Riverbank and Escalon.

Last year, Dollar Tree patrons donated more than $5.6 million of supplies to military families nationwide.

The Back-to-School Brigade takes place as part of Operation Homefront’s 1Military1Family campaign throughout the month of July. Operation Homefront knows that every community is only as strong as the people and families who live there. Americans wishing to show their support for military families can learn more at OperationHomefront.net/1Mil1Fam, and join in online with the hashtag #1Mil1Fam.

Operation Homefront builds strong, stable, and secure military families so that they can thrive in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. With more than 3,200 volunteers nationwide, Operation Homefront has provided assistance to tens of thousands of military families since its inception shortly after 9/11. Recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity oversight groups, 92 percent of Operation Homefront’s expenditures go directly to programs that provide support to military families.
