On Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. the Patterson Library will host the first in a series of film discussions as part of the Created Equal project. Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle is an initiative created by the National Endowment for the Humanities to mark the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. This discussion will focus on the documentary ‘Slavery by Another Name.’ The film depicts the system of forced, unpaid labor that existed in America until World War II, and mostly affected African American men in the South.
