Chocolate Hoedown Scheduled
Chocolate OER

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Tuolumne County (UUFTC) is sponsoring the Chocolate Lovers’ Hoedown, a community dance plus dinner and chocolate goodies auction on Saturday, Feb. 4 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the Manzanita Building at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds on Stockton Road in Sonora. All are encouraged to come ready to eat and dance.

The buffet dinner will be catered by popular professional chef Dave Ingram of Chef Dave Cooks! The chocolate-themed menu will include appetizers, pepper-crusted tri-tip with chocolate port sauce, veggies drizzled with balsamic bitter chocolate sauce, cocoa rye bread, and red velvet chocolate cake. Wine and beer will be available to purchase. Ingram is a personal chef with over 36 years of professional experience preparing a multitude of cuisine styles. From simple comfort foods to gourmet, Chef Dave tailors menus for the specific occasion.

Renowned dance caller, Rachel Phillips of Groveland, will guide all during the hoedown, including circles triples, contras, lines and squares. No experience or dance partners are necessary. A retired teacher and Groveland resident, Phillips is a popular locally renowned caller and has called for local clubs as well as students studying the Gold Country. She has more than 20 years’ experience.

There will be a Chocolate Lovers’ Live Auction offering the opportunity to bid on outstanding edible Valentine’s Day gifts. Tickets to the Chocolate Lovers’ Hoedown are $35 and may be purchased at The Mountain Bookshop at the Junction and at Schnoog’s. For more information, call 962-0805.
