Annual Photography Show Entries Sought By Delicato

Competition is now open to entries by amateur and professional photographers for the 20th annual Delicato Vineyards Photography Show. The show will run from Saturday, June 1 through Saturday, June 25. Entries will be judged jointly and there will be more than $1,000 in cash and gift card awards presented to the winners for original photographs in multiple categories.

The categories include Landscape, Animals, People/Portrait, Action Photos, Travel/Architecture and Other. Applications are available in the Tasting Room at Delicato and on the website, www.dfvtastringroom.com. Five pieces per photographer may be mailed or brought in with the entry fee to the Delicato Tasting Room between Saturday, May 14 and Thursday, May 26. The public is invited to attend the awards ceremony on Saturday, June 25 at 4 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres will be available at 3 p.m.

From June 1 through June 25, the public is invited to view the judged and accepted photographs while sipping the newest wine releases. Delicato Vineyards is on Highway 99, five miles north of Manteca. Open seven days a week, the Tasting Room will display the photographs form 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Wine tasting and viewing are complimentary.

 

Judging the show this year is Dean Taylor, an active member of the Stockton Camera Club. He purchased his first 35mm camera in late 1970 and joined various camera clubs during the 1980s. The majority of his photographic knowledge has come from participating in several workshops, attending camera club meetings, and learning from judges’ critiques. His experience as a photography judge includes judging for numerous camera clubs, county fairs, photography shows, fine-art gallery shows and various photographic societies.
