The final sports season of the 2021-22 school year wrapped up with the awards night in the main gym on the Escalon High School campus on May 24.

Baseball, softball, track and field, and boys golf teams were in the spotlight; tennis was done differently as the coach was not able to attend the awards program. Also featured at the spring awards is recognition for the top senior athletes.

This week, we showcase the award winners for varsity baseball and softball along with JV baseball and softball; other sports photos will be run in the June 8 issue.

Senior honors went to Amanda Murphy and EJ Lewis as the Lloyd C. Engel Outstanding Senior Athlete; Soleil Gouzenne and JP Lial as the Bob and Mark Loureiro Most Inspirational Senior Athlete. A story with those four athletes will also be featured in the June 8 edition of The Times.
