Dream Catchers Seek Position Players

The Escalon Dream Catchers 12 and Under softball team is planning upcoming tryouts for fall ball, with all positions open. For additional information on tryout dates and times, contact Carol Shipley at 652-1292.

Brumley Duo Show Well At Meet

Escalon swimmers Rosebud and Claire Brumley both turned in solid efforts for the Oakdale Gators swim team in a tri-team meet Saturday at Sierra High School in Manteca. The Gators finished second among the three squads. Swimming in the 11-12 girls category, Rosebud Brumley was seventh in the 100 Individual Medley in 1:23.33; eighth in the 50 breaststroke, 41.05 and 10th in the 50 freestyle, 32.12. She also swam with relay teams, taking second in the 200 freestyle relay, 2:04.81 and third in the 200 medley relay, 2:26.90. Claire Brumley, competing in the 15-16 girls, took fourth in the 50 butterfly, 33.86; fifth in the 100 Individual Medley, 1:18.40 and sixth in the 50 breaststroke, 41.55.

Summer Squad Winds Down Season

Members of the Escalon Summer Baseball Cougars team will finish their summer season with road games today, July 14. The team, made up of JV and varsity players for the Escalon High School squads, will travel to Central Catholic for a Wednesday doubleheader. The team recently took third place in the Highway 120 Baseball Classic.

Blazer Blast Bat Tournament Set

The Tri-Valley Blazers will host its Blazer Blast wooden bat tournament 2004 Friday through Sunday, July 16, 17 and 18 with games at Collegeville, Escalon and Riverbank. Teams will play three games minimum and the tournament will also feature a Home Run Derby at Riverbank High School on Saturday, July 17 at a cost of $5 per hitter. Warriors Baseball Camps Set

Under the direction of CSU Stanislaus Head Coach Kenny Leonesio, Warriors Baseball Camps, offered in July and August, give young players of all abilities an opportunity to improve their skills.

The All Skills Camp, offered July 20-23 and Aug. 3-6, is designed for ages 6-14 and runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $100.
