After starting off the week with a win over Linden, the Escalon Lady Cougar golfers fell to Argonaut on the road.

They were at home for the Oct. 5 contest with Linden, winning 166-177.

Lucy Allbaugh paced the effort with a 34. She was followed by Gracie Bracco, 43; Genevieve Cazassa, 44; Sarah Bava, 45; Kelsey Webster, 48; Jordin Lovett, 53.

Thursday, Oct. 7 was a trip to Castle Oaks, a par 36 course, where Escalon fell to host Argonaut, 217-187.

“We just all had a bad day on Thursday at Castle Oaks,” noted co-coach Martin Louro. “I’m sure the course had something to do with it. It’s a big course with really big greens so some four putts really add up.”

Allbaugh again was the leader, carding a team low 47 on the day. Other scores were Cazassa 51, Bava 59, Bracco 60, Webster 64, Ambro 69.

“Hopefully the girls come ready to play this week and we hold on to third as three teams move on to playoffs,” added Louro.

The girls have one league match left against Sonora and then will move on to play in the league tournament.
