Escalon’s Park Fete Run will take off from the parking lot at El Portal Middle School, 805 First. St., on Saturday morning, July 15.
As part of the annual Park Fete festivities, there will be both a 10k and a two-mile run offered.
The 10k is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m.; the two-mile runners take off at 7:45 a.m.
This is on a fast, flat, out and back course; the shorter run stays in town while the 10k does go out on some country roads, though all the roads are paved. Both races finish back at El Portal.
The race is chip timed. All registrants will receive a T-shirt and finisher’s medal.
The price for either race is $40, and you may sign up online by July 11 or race morning (cash only on the day of the race).
Top finishers in both the men’s and women’s races will receive a gift card to Fleet Feet in the following amounts: 10K - 1st $50, 2nd $30, 3rd $25 and 1st in the 2-mile will receive $30.
Early packet pick up will be Friday July 14, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at D’Boni’s Pizza in Escalon. For those registered after June 15, T-shirt sizes are first come first served.
Race Day packet pick up and registration will begin at El Portal at 6:15 a.m.
No refunds, the run goes off rain or shine, unseasonably cool or warm.
All funds raised go to support the Escalon Lions Club and their efforts to support the students and community of Escalon.
