Mid Valley Skiers Score State Crowns In Slalom

The news was good recently for several members of the Mid Valley Water Ski Club, coming home with top honors and personal records.

In recent action at the INT League stop 3 and 4 and the State Championship, Eric Swanson took first on both Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday competition was stop 3 and Sunday stop 4, he had a personal best of 15 off 5 buoys at 30 mph, and the effort also was good enough to earn him a first place in the state.

Daughter Erica Swanson took second on Saturday stop 3 and first on Sunday stop 4, and tied for first in the state. Her best was 15 off 4 buoys at 28 mph.

Other members of the Mid Valley Water Ski Club competing also all earned State Champion status in their various age groups and competition categories and included Kay and Kurtis Nelson, and Jessica Wrinkler along with the Swansons.

The group will next be going to Western Regional at Villa Logos on Sept. 16-18.
