The freshman Cougar basketball boys were on the road, for their final game of the season, going up against Mountain House.
Due to injuries, the youngest Cougars were down to eight players for the Tuesday, Feb. 16 contest. Mountain House wanted to play a physical game and the Cougars would not back down. Emotions were high and the game was tense. The Cougars battled to a 21-14 halftime lead. Mountain House managed to stay in the game, but the Cougars still held the lead at the end of the third quarter. The frosh Cougars controlled the fourth quarter and won the game 46-36.
Brad DaDalt had his best game of the season and scored 25 points to lead the team, and head coach Dave Anderson said he felt it was the young Cougars’ best win of the season.
The freshman Cougars ended the season with an overall mark of 19-7 and offered a collective ‘thank you’ to coach Anderson for a terrific year. With Coach Anderson’s leadership, the freshmen said they felt they grew as a team during the season and look forward to playing JV basketball next year.
The young Cougars also wanted to say “Thank You” to their families, as the support provided by the families was tremendous during this successful season.
