Swim Lessons

The first session of swimming lessons begins Monday, June 13 and sign-ups are due by this Friday, June 10. Fee per session is $40 for the first child; $30 for each additional child in the family. Adult lessons are $40 and Mommy and Me class s $35. Regular swim lessons are offered in Levels 1 through 6 and have both morning and afternoon sessions, Monday through Thursday and Adult swim lessons are at noon, Monday through Thursday. Mommy and Me classes are Tuesday and Thursday only. There will be three sessions of swimming lessons throughout the summer.

 

Sign Up To Run

Escalon Middle Runners is a specially designed running clinic for ages 11 to 14, beginning Monday, June 13. This is an introduction of basic running form and will build the athletes’ running skills. Cost for the clinic is $50. The season will end with a performance at the 2016 Park Fete Run. For more information, visit www.cityofescalon.org or call the Recreation Department at 691-7372.

 

Tickets Still Available

Get your tickets for the 2016 ‘Cougar Tailgate at an A’s Game’ event, when the Oakland A’s host the San Francisco Giants on Thursday, June 30. Come support the Eski Cougar Basketball Club teams and enjoy America’s pastime while you do it. The $80 cost gets you a great meal (all you can eat BBQ tri-tip, full spread and beverages) and a field level seat to the game. Tailgate party starts at 4:30 p.m. in the Heggenberger Parking Lot, on the south side of the stadium. British Soccer Camp

Challenger Sports will be offering a British Soccer Camp from June 13 through 17 at Hogan Field, open to ages six to 14, running 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. nightly. Cost is $160 and pre-registration is required at the Recreation Department, 2060 McHenry Ave., Escalon. The camp will feature innovative practices, coached games, a camp world cup, cultural education, character building and more. Call for additional information, 691-7372. Also, World Events Sports will be offering summer programs in baseball, basketball, football and a sports mix program. Discover Scuba

Aquatic Discount Scuba in Escalon provides an introduction to scuba diving with lessons at the EHS pool. Dates this summer are Saturdays, June 25 and July 23. Cost is $15 and the class is designed for ages 10-plus. Class runs 10 a.m. to noon and those attending should bring a towel, swim suit and sunscreen. Register at the Recreation Department.

 

Trekkers Plan Events

Plans are underway for upcoming Volksport Walks at Treasure Island and Donner Memorial State Park. You can learn all about these group walks for fun and fitness at the Delta Tule Trekkers’ monthly meeting on Monday, June 13 at CK Grill, 14725 S. Harlan Road, Lathrop. Dinner/social hour begins at 6 p.m., and the meeting is at 7 p.m. Anyone interested in walking for fitness, fun and friendship is invited to attend.
