Sports Physicals Night

A sure sign of the fast-approaching school year, the annual Escalon Sports Physicals Night is set for Tuesday, Aug. 2 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

All athletes planning to take part in a sport during the upcoming school year at Escalon are encouraged to attend. Athletes planning to play a fall sport must have the physical completed before they can participate in practices.

Several health care professionals cooperate with the school to host the event including the offices of Dr. Bob Peterson, Travis Bartelink, Escalon Chiropractic with Drs. Bystrom and Clark and Escalon Community Ambulance personnel.

Cost is $20 for the physical, which is good for the entire school year.

“Practices can start on Monday, Aug. 8,” said Escalon Athletic Director Mark Loureiro.

The physical forms can be picked up at the school if athletes want to see their own doctor; they will also be available at the physicals night.

Fall sports at EHS will include three levels of volleyball, three levels of football, cross country and girls golf. Boys soccer has been moved to the winter season, as has girls soccer. They will join boys and girls basketball and wrestling as the winter sports for the 2016-17 school year.
