Action at the lanes recently for the El Portal Bowling League saw the Farm Girls taking the top spot with a mark of 40-20. They were followed by Borba Dairy, 33-27; Bartelink Dairy, 31-29; Tupperware & Travel, 30-30; Dutch Girls, 28½-31½; Foxy Ladies, Escalon Body & Frame, 26½-33½; Memorial Splitting Headaches, 24½-35½.

Ginger Serpa recorded the top score in three of four categories for the week, with a 196 scratch game, 268 handicap game, 644 handicap series. Kelly Homen had the high scratch series, 504.

Farm Girls was also at the top of the league standings, winning the first half, and claimed top honors in the Jan. 21 matches with a 43-21 mark. They were followed that day by Bartelink Dairy, 35-29; Borba Dairy, 34-30; Foxy Ladies, 30½-33½; Tupperware & Travel, 30-34; Escalon Body & Frame, 29½-34½; Dutch Girls, 28½-35½; Memorial Splitting Headaches, 25½-38½.

Stacy Lub had the 215 scratch game, 503 scratch series and 265 handicap game honors for the week, Connie Johnson rolled the high handicap series at 687.

Season to date leaders are Kelly Homen, individual high average, 159.97 and scratch series, 551. Erlene Price holds the handicap series honor, 689; Ginger Serpa, handicap game, 268; Barbara Webb, scratch game, 223.

The bowlers meet each Thursday at 10 a.m. at McHenry Bowl in Modesto for the weekly league.
