A dozen teams have started their season at McHenry Bowl in Modesto, competing in the El Portal Bowling league on Thursdays at 10 a.m.

Recent action on the lanes saw Dutch Girls and Sink or Swim roll to a 4-0 mark, with Memorial Splitting Headaches, Bartelink Dairy and Escalon Body and Frame at 3-1. Pin-Ups and Random Rollers went 2-2, U-3 Ranch, Elaine’s Travels and Foxy Ladies went 1-3, with B*tches Be Bowling! and Team 12 coming in at 0-4.

Kelly Homen had the scratch game, 168 and scratch series, 448, for the week, with Ginger Serpa rolling the high handicap game, 233 and Suzanne Pater the high handicap series, 622. Kelly Homen has the individual high average so far for the young season, 149.33.
