Farm Girls and Escalon Body & Frame were on top at the lanes in the Jan. 5 action at McHenry Bowl for the El Portal Bowling league. Each team went 35-25 and Escalon Body & Frame was the first half winner in the league, with Farm Girls taking second in the first half competition following a playoff.

In league play on Jan. 5, Foxy Ladies went 34-26, followed by Bartelink Dairy, 33½–26½; Dutch Girls, 29-31; Memorial Splitting Headaches, 28½-31½; Elaine’s Travel, 27-33; Pin Ups, 25-23; U-3, 24-36; The Erratics, 24-24; Lunch Bunch, 23-25.

Jennifer Cunningham recorded three of the top four scores for the week with a 202 scratch game, 257 handicap game and 655 handicap series. Kelly Homen had the high scratch series, 519.

Second half season action kicked off on Jan. 12, with Escalon Body & Frame at 38-26, followed by Foxy Ladies, 37-27; Farm Girls, 36-28; Bartelink Dairy, 34½-29½; Memorial Splitting Headaches, 31½-32½; Elaine’s Travel, 31-33; Dutch Girls, 30-34; U-3, 28-36; Lunch Bunch, 27-25; Pin Ups, 25-27; The Erratics, 24-28.

Top scores for the week came from Delores Borba, 173 scratch game; Kelly Homen, 477 scratch series; Velma Vasconcellos, 246 handicap game and 640 handicap series.

For the season, Kelly Homen has the individual high average, 167.27 and high scratch series, 583; Chris Magana, high scratch game, 221; Lenny Nottley, high handicap series, 694; Nellie Bartelink and Jennifer Cunningham share the high handicap game at 257.

Bowlers gather each Thursday at 10 a.m. for the league.
