Escalon High School graduate Katie Krumeich recently completed her second season as a member of the women's tennis team at Cedarville University in Ohio.
She returned to the squad after sitting out a year and helped the Lady Jackets post a record of 18-4, capturing the NAIA Region IX title with a 7-2 win over Walsh University (OH) and earning a berth in the NAIA National Tournament where they advanced to the second round for the first time ever. Katie is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Krumeich of Escalon.
A junior nursing major, Krumeich posted a 5-2 record in singles and a 3-1 mark in doubles for the Lady Jackets.
Cedarville was the American Mideast Conference South Division champion with a 5-0 mark and advanced to the championship match of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament.
Cedarville University, a Christian institution of arts, sciences, professional, and graduate programs, has a current enrollment of 3,000 students. The school is located in southwestern Ohio, 25 miles east of Dayton.
